At-risk young people in Caboolture are set to receive life-changing support through a new early intervention initiative designed to tackle youth crime before it escalates.

The Regional Reset program, funded by the State Government and delivered by Youth Insearch, will see participants undertake three short-stay ‘resets’ at a residential facility at PCYC Bornhoffen, where they will receive 24/7 support and supervision.

During their stay, they will participate in a range of activities to develop their emotional, social, and physical wellbeing; including cultural mentoring, education, life and employment skills workshops, and adventure-based outdoor activities.

The program will also offer a range of activities, peer support groups and family engagement sessions at the Caboolture and Deception Bay PCYC to help young people re-engage with their communities and divert them from crime.

Member for Pumicestone Ariana Doolan welcomed the funding for the region.

“We know one of the best ways to reduce crime is to intervene early and these programs will give at-risk youth the support they need to re-engage with education and become productive members of the community.”
