In Friday’s Turkey Comp (November 7), Garry Punch claimed the win with a score of 44/27, edging out Bruce Thorogood in a three-way countback after Thorogood finished 44/30.
Brian Glanville took out Best Putts with 14, while Ian Timms impressed by claiming both pin shots on holes 13 and 17.
Other notable scores came from G Ray (46/30), J Humphrey (51/31), M Beetz (45/34), and B Glanville (47/34).
Sunday’s Trev’s Sunday Session (November 9) marked the third and final round of the series, proudly sponsored by Esk IGA and Brisbane Valley Meats. A Beutel secured victory for Round 3 with 41 points, followed by B Thorogood (39) and G Proctor (38).
The overall series winner after three rounds was Trevor Adams with 99 points, just ahead of Mario Beetz (98) and H Knubel (85).
In the nearest-the-pin contests, highlights included Thorogood again on holes 1/10 and 8/17, M Beetz on 2/11, J Beetz on 3/12 and 9/18, T Adams on 5/14, G Proctor on 6/15, and M Winchester on 4/13. The day also carried a special moment — 82-year-old Bruce Thorogood played below his age, finishing the round in just 80 shots, a remarkable achievement for the veteran golfer.
