ATAR results revealed for the Class of 2024

More than 28,000 Year 12 graduates across Queensland received their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) results online today, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey.

This year, 36 students achieved the highest possible ATAR of 99.95, while 25% of graduates earned an ATAR of 90 or above. These students studied a wide range of subjects, from French to Specialist Mathematics, Chemistry, and Psychology, demonstrating the diversity of academic interests among Queensland's future leaders.

Minister for Education John-Paul Langbroek congratulated the Class of 2024 on their hard work and achievements. "Congratulations to all our Year 12 students for their dedication over the past two years. Your success is the result of hard work, perseverance, and the support of your teachers, family, and friends," he said.

Langbroek also recognised those who achieved the top ATAR of 99.95. "This is an extraordinary achievement, and I commend these students for their exceptional efforts," he said. However, he reminded those who may not have received the result they hoped for that there are alternative pathways available, including vocational education and training (VET) courses and bridging programs.

Chris Veraa, Interim CEO of the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC), also congratulated the students and reinforced the message that a high ATAR is not the only pathway to tertiary study. "While a competitive ATAR plays a key role in university entry, there are many opportunities, and QTAC is here to guide students on their next steps."

For Lachlan, a state school graduate who achieved a 99.95 ATAR, resilience was key. "It’s been challenging at times but worth it," he said.

Results were accessible via the QTAC ATAR portal from 8 am today, with the first offer round scheduled for 10 am on December 23, 2024. For further information and support, graduates can contact QTAC at 1300 467 822.
