Brie-lliant 30 year memories
WOODFORD and surrounding residents, history buffs, and former cheese factory employees are invited to celebrate the legacy of the town’s iconic cheese factory, 30 years after its closure.

The Woodford Cheese Factory, originally the Stanley River Co-operative Company, operated from 1905 until 1995 and employed many locals over its 90-year history. Many remember the red brick building on Archer Street, milk tankers arriving and departing, and workers in their white uniforms and gumboots bustling around town.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the factory’s closure, the Woodford Historical Society is hosting a reunion on Saturday, September 20, at the Woodford Community Hall, starting at 10am.
The event is open to anyone who worked at the factory, had a connection to it, or is simply interested in the town’s history. Entry is free, and the Woodford Lions Club will run a sausage sizzle.
Organisers are also seeking memorabilia and photos to display during the event. Anyone with items to share or questions can contact Donna on 0429 899 115. The society encourages people to send photos early so they can be scanned and printed for the reunion display, helping preserve the memories of this significant piece of Woodford’s history.
