Carol Molloy takes to water colouring with ease
Thank you to Don Woodley for being our Artist of the Month (AOM) for May 2025. Don’s beautiful artworks attracted great feedback from gallery visitors, with some sales being made!

Our AOM for June is Carol Molloy. Carol moved to Australia from Namibia (Southern Africa) in 2003, bringing with her a passion for the beauty of the natural world. Drawn to art from a young age, she has always dabbled in painting and sketching. As a teenager, her love of landscapes was nurtured by a professional artist while painting African landscapes in oils. More recently, professional acrylic artist Renet Botha in Townsville inspired her to pick up the brush again.
Carol retired and moved to the beautiful Sunshine Coast in 2022, where she decided to embrace the challenge of watercolor painting—a medium she had previously avoided due to its ‘unforgiving’ nature. Under the wonderful guidance of Don Woodley, tutor at Sunshine Coast Art Group Buderim, she is continuing to experiment with watercolor and loving this addictive medium.
Carol is captivated by the stunning skies, forests, and seascapes of our beautiful east coast. Her aim is to capture the light, atmosphere, and beauty, taking the viewer with her to a happy place.
Carol is a member of the Sunshine Coast Art Group, Kilcoy Courthouse Art Gallery, and the Ginger Factory Creatives. She has sold many paintings throughout Australia and overseas. Please support Carol by visiting the Kilcoy Courthouse Art Gallery during June to view her lovely artwork.
