Charges laid in anti-social bust
POLICE have charged 48 people with 79 offences as part of Operation Xray Grader, aimed at tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in the Caboolture Central Business District (CBD). The focus area includes King Street, the train station, and the surrounding streets — Elliott, George, and Bertha.

The operation began on April 29 and features proactive foot, mobile, and bike patrols, alongside business and community engagement. These boosted patrols complement the daily work of local frontline police.
As of June 10, police had logged 1,100 occurrences, including street checks, business engagements, wanding, arrests, cautions, and charges. They also issued 50 Traffic Infringement Notices (TINs).
Among the 48 charged, 16 face 32 drug-related offences, and five have been charged for possessing a knife in a public place. Other charges relate to property and public order offences.
Moreton District Officer Chief Superintendent Craig Weatherley said police are focused on making the community and businesses safer.
“Moreton District police are taking action through detection, prevention, disruption, and community engagement,” he said. “Operation Xray Grader will run until July 31, after which it will transition into a long-term strategy focused on proactive crime prevention and disruption.”
Police will work with local council and business stakeholders to develop a CBD Watch Program and collaborate on strategies to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour.
“While enforcement remains important, the operation places heavy emphasis on engaging with businesses and community groups to find ways to keep Caboolture CBD safer.”
As part of Operation Xray Grader, Moreton District police will also host several Coffee with a Cop events, giving community and business members the chance to speak directly with officers about supporting a safer community.
