Coffee catch up with Jeff Horn
Small businesses from across Moreton Bay gathered on September 6 for State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan’s last Small Business Coffee Catch Up before the upcoming State elections.
Featuring world class boxer Jeff Horn as the guest speaker, small business owners and employees got to hear Jeff ’s inspirational story about overcoming hardships and defeat to achieve a final goal.
Mr Ryan said the catch up went great, with businesses taking advantage of the opportunity to make connections and network, on top of being able to learn tips from a world champion.
“I think there was a really good question about how, in business and in life, sometimes you get knocked down, and how do you get back up again. I think Jeff ’s advice around having people you trust and getting advice and support from them stems from the boxing ring out into business and out into life,” he said.
Mr Ryan emphasised how these Small Business Coffee Catch Up events, which are held every two months, are very beneficial to the community, as they provide a great chance for people to network.
“It’s actually quite impressive the number of connections that people have,” he said.
“I know out of every single Coffee Catch Up event people have made connections that went on to support their business.
“It’s a great form for people to connect and make their business more successful. “All things going well, we’ll be back by the end of the year.”
Attendees also had a chance to take photos with Mr Horn and his world champion belt after the event, while sharing a coffee and connecting with other small businesses.
