This year, the event will return with a refreshed format, making it more inclusive with free entry.

The refreshed format will focus on the magic of kite flying with locals and visitors alike invited to bring a picnic rug, find a spot by the kite oval, and spend the day marvelling at the spectacular kites soaring overhead.

The new format offers a relaxed, free day out for families, reconnecting the event with its roots and focusing on the art of kite flying.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the Vietjet Redcliffe KiteFest was a highlight of the City’s calendar, bringing together families and visitors for two days of vibrant colour, creativity, and community spirit.

“This year’s refreshed format, with free entry and a focus on the pure joy and colour of kite flying, is all about reconnecting locals with this beloved event and making it accessible to everyone,” he said.

“Our support of major events like the Vietjet KiteFest reflects our commitment to fostering inclusive, family-friendly experiences which showcase the unique charm of City of Moreton Bay, for residents and visitors alike.”

At the heart of the event will be the Ausbuild Kite-Flying Arena, where international and domestic kite flyers will showcase incredible kite displays from giant showpieces to synchronised flying routines.

The annual two-day event will also feature a feast of food trucks, the Sesame Lane public fly zone, kite-making workshops, kid’s activities including face painting, animal encounters, gem fossicking and pony rides, plus a bustling market alley packed with artisan goods and local treasures.
