Mayor Jason Wendt highlighted the importance of input from residents, community groups, and businesses. “Early in the month, we met with user groups for the Fernvale and Esk Recreation Grounds advisory committees to discuss ongoing and potential future improvements to our community recreation infrastructure,” he said.

Sport was a key focus, with the Fernvale Sports Park Advisory Committee meeting on August 30 to support sports such as football, cricket, and netball. The Kilcoy Streetscape Advisory Committee held a special meeting on August 21, where Queensland Hydro announced $550,000 in funding for Town Entry works through its Community Benefits Program.

Other meetings included the Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee, and the Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee.

Cr Wendt said, “Our Council is proud of its steadfast commitment to providing first-class facilities for our residents, whether in Kilcoy, Esk, Lowood, Fernvale, or elsewhere in the region. These facilities support healthy, active lifestyles and strengthen community connections. We will continue to prioritise their development and improvement. We have incredibly passionate people on these committees, providing valuable feedback to Council and guiding our decision-making processes.”
