Cops and dogs say farewell
Queensland Police yesterday honoured 49 officers and two retired police dogs for outstanding service to the Moreton community in a ceremony celebrating decades of dedication.

Assistant Commissioner Glenn Morris, PD Gator and Senior Constable Tim Leybourne (dog handler).
Eighteen officers received National Level Awards, with nine awarded the National Police Service Medal for ethical and diligent service.
At the State Level, 24 officers were recognised, including Senior Constable Andrew Donohue and Senior Sergeant Donald Schouten, who each received the 40-year Clasp.
Retired Sergeant Andrew McAlister was awarded the 35-year Clasp for his contributions to North Brisbane and Moreton’s intelligence units.
Retired police dogs Gator and Lugar were also honoured with the Queensland Police Canine Service Medallion.
