It was a similar tale to when the teams met a week earlier.

Comfortable run chase in Division 4

Home team Wamuran-SR defeated Palmwoods by seven wickets when chasing a small target of 96, after the hosts won by eight wickets when chasing a total of 90 against the same opponent at the same venue a week earlier.

Brad Teske starred with bat and ball on both occasions, having taken 2/18 on the first occasion and 2/33 on the second occasion, and scored 40 not out one week and then 29 not out the next.

Palmwoods slipped from 3/75 to 5/78 and later lost its last five wickets for just two runs, with James Brand and Josh Burton doing the damage.

The hosts never looked in danger as wickets fell at 31, 52 and 71.

Gallant run chase falls short

Wamuran-SR had a creditable loss to Tewantin-Noosa last Saturday following a landslide defeat a week earlier.

Tewantin-Noosa tallied 9/211 before Wamuran-SR managed 7/183 in reply.

The Sunshine Coast club had made 4/270 and dismissed Wamuran-SR for 106 the previous weekend.

Century to Baker in Division 7

Palmwoods made 155 against Wamuran-SR on the Briggs Park Turf for the second successive Saturday, and lost by five wickets on one occasion before losing by 176 runs the next time around.

A knock of 145 from opener David Baker set up Wamuran-SR’s total of 5/331, while Michael Harvey was dismissed one run shy of triple figures.

Palmwoods fell apart after an opening stand of 30, despite a whirlwind 42 not out from Mel Shelley in the lower order.
