Dr Karl to lead Eco Fest fun
MORETON Bay Eco Fest is set to return for another jampacked day of environmental education and community engagement on Sunday, November 9, at UniSC Moreton Bay Petrie campus.

The free community festival is designed to empower residents with practical sustainability knowledge while delivering a comprehensive program of entertainment, interactive activities, and educational presentations from environmental experts.
The highlight of this year’s program will be beloved science communicator Dr Karl Kruszelnicki AM, who will bring his renowned expertise and engaging presentation style as guest speaker on the main stage.
Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said this year’s Moreton Bay Eco Fest is set to be a huge, action-packed day of free fun for the whole family.
“Eco Fest returns for its fourth year bigger and better than ever, giving locals the chance to discover practical eco tips, sustainable lifestyle inspiration, and hands-on activities that make learning fun for all ages,” he said.
“I’m thrilled to welcome legendary Australian science communicator Dr Karl Kruszelnicki AM to the main stage to share his insights on climate change and inspire families to think in new ways about how we care for our environment.
“Attendees can jump straight into the action, whether it’s learning how to grow their own veggies, compost or keep backyard chooks, or taking part in popular workshops like cooking classes, native bee hotels and live animal demonstrations.”
A kids zone will feature activities to keep the little ones busy such as crafting bee hotels, honey pressing, nature play and a free plants and seedling station.
A range of eco-conscious market stalls will feature handmade and sustainable products.
