The site, located within Council’s Priority Development Area at The Mill at Moreton Bay, will host 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games events at a new purpose-built indoor sports centre with a 10,000-seat capacity.
Mayor Peter Flannery said this was an exciting project milestone that will set the groundwork for the construction of one of the first purpose-built venues for 2032.
“This will enliven the entire precinct and lay the groundwork for future growth investment in the site,” he said.
“Works will begin by June this year and are due for completion by mid-2026.
“This will allow the next phase of development to take shape well ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
