Esk CWA makes kits for kids
FULFILLING the CWA charter of supporting women and children in need, members of the Esk branch have been busy making ‘Kits for Kids’ during recent meetings.
A joint effort between the CWA and Rotary International, completed kits are shipped to Pacific Island nations, to help provide schools with books and other materials.
Led by Esk members Diane Janbroers, Sue Cox and Patti Jaenke, the Kits for Kids include pencils, books and educational supplies, with finishing touches provided by the branch members.
“The CWA members make drawstring bags to hold everything for the kids, before they are packed up and sent to Rotary International, they handle the shipping and distribution in the Pacific Islands when the kits arrive,” Ms Janbroers said.
“We are grateful for the support we receive from local businesses, the Kilcoy Gym, Ray White Toogoolawah and Raewin Morgan from Books a Breeze in Esk.
“This is one of the many projects QCWA is involved in, supporting women and children in need.”
