Saturday’s tree lighting included lots of family fun with a free BBQ and a visit from the big red man himself who handed out book gifts to the kids, organised by the Lions of Esk and the Esk Xmas Elves.

Santa and the Lions were joined by local police, fireys and councillors and Mayor Jason Wendt.

Locals also enjoyed a merry afternoon of music and Christmas fun, as the Esk Community Choir put on its 34th annual Christmas Concert at the Somerset Civic Centre on Sunday, December 8.

This year’s concert featured the Esk Choir, along with special guests, including Blackbutt Singers, Esk School Band, Strings and Things, Full Spectrum Brass, Glenrock Uke Players, Recorder Resonance, and Somerset Tappers, along with raffles, craft and much more.

The event also included raffles and craft workshops, bringing the festive cheer to Esk and getting all locals ready for the Christmas season.

Merry Christmas to all and let the festivities begin!
