Explore from the bay to the hills
FROM sparkling coastlines to lush hinterlands and vibrant creative hubs, the Moreton Bay Region is one of South East Queensland’s most diverse destinations. Just a short drive north of Brisbane, it’s the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation and local charm.

Top things to do
Watch a sunrise or sunset – Whether you’re after that perfect photo or a romantic setting for a morning or early evening picnic, there are options aplenty across the Moreton Bay Region. Head to the beach, a bayside jetty or hinterland location to create memories.
Pitch a tent – There are beach and hinterland options for those who like to rough it as well as those who enjoy creature comforts and even a little luxury, including beautiful camping spots in National Parks.
Taste local seafood – There’s no shortage of delicious, fresh seafood in Moreton Bay, including the iconic Moreton Bay Bug. You can buy it from a local seafood market and cook it yourself, or let the experts do all the hard work and simply order, throw down a picnic blanket and watch the world go by along the foreshore.
Fine dining experience in the hinterland – Fine dining with atmosphere, and in some cases a beautiful view, is what you can expect from a night out or long lunch in the Moreton Bay Hinterland. There are several award-winning options to choose from, close to town and high up in the hills.
Visit an art gallery – You might need to set aside a few weekends to check out the huge number of art galleries across the Moreton Bay Region, including Redcliffe Art Gallery, Good Egg Gallery, Woodford Museum and Art Gallery, Pine Rivers Art Gallery, Caboolture Regional Art Gallery, The Slab Hut Art and Craft Gallery, Red Poppy Art Collective, Dayboro Art Gallery and The Old Fire Station Gallery at Redcliffe.
Take a scenic drive – Fuel up the car, pack a picnic and head west for a scenic drive through the Moreton Region’s picturesque hinterland. Follow the 72-hour itinerary, or make up your own, as you discover everything Mt Glorious, Mt Mee, Dayboro, Samford, Ocean View, Mt Nebo and Woodford have to offer. There are also delightful spots in between, with plenty of amazing cafes, restaurants and wineries to discover.
