Feedback sought on plans for Station Rd, Burpengary

PLANS are underway to improve Station Road in Burpengary, with Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC) seeking community feedback on the design plan.

According to the MBRC website, this road in Burpengary “forms part of Council’s primary active transport network and provides an important active travel link between Burpengary Railway Station, Burpengary Plaza and the surrounding residential area and community uses”.

Aspects of the project include widening to provide a two to two-and-a-half-metre concrete pathway, new kerb ramps and other crossing improvements, and street tree planting.

Additionally, bicycle awareness zone treatments are slated for Joyce Street.

It is hoped that the outcomes provide a more attractive pathway network and be better equipped for locals and visitors, and be more compliant for people with disabilities.

To obtain feedback on the plan, MBRC has released a short online survey which can be found at https://yoursay.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/station-road-burpengary-improvements.

The survey will be open until Monday August 9.

Construction may start later this year or early next year.
