Funding extension for Caboolture Watchhouse
The Crisafulli Government has announced extended funding for the Caboolture Watchhouse, ensuring secure accommodation for juvenile offenders until 31 December 2025
The Crisafulli Government has announced extended funding for the Caboolture Watchhouse, ensuring secure accommodation for juvenile offenders until 31 December 2025. The 31-bed facility will address increased demand during peak periods, filling a gap left by delays in completing the Wacol Youth Remand Centre, now expected to open mid-2025 instead of 2024.
The Caboolture Watchhouse provides health, education, and intervention services for juvenile offenders. Minister for Youth Justice Laura Gerber emphasized the importance of ongoing funding.
The funding supports the Crisafulli Government’s Making Queensland Safer Plan, ensuring community safety and operational continuity during the holiday season.
