Everyone is invited to attend the black-tie event organised by Deception Bay mother Rachel Bernardo (aka @bowelmumma), who is currently battling bowel cancer.

Attendees will enjoy inspirational stories from guest speakers, live music entertainment, food and prizes, with all proceeds going to Bowel Cancer Australia.

The gala will be hosted by Simon McCuskey, one of Australia’s elite Master of Ceremonies.

World renowned Hall of Fame guitarist Louie Shelton and one of Australia’s finest vocalists Atalie Cutajar come together as duo “Soniiq” and will be sure to get everyone up and boogieing on the dance floor.

Louie Shelton's guitar work has been heard in many classic hits by artists such as Lionel Richie, Jackson 5, Boz Scaggs, The Monkees and many more.

He has also recorded with many artists including Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston.

Major event sponsors who have made this fundraiser possible are Moreton Bay Recycling, Jumbo Skip Bins and SRJ Walker Wayland Accountants.

Ticket price includes two course plated meal, soft drinks and coffee, with a welcome drink and lucky door raffle ticket on arrival.

Alcoholic beverages can be purchased from the private bar and attendees are encourage to bring cash for raffles throughout the evening.

Rachel said she is hopeful this event will raise awareness about bowel cancer in younger people, what symptoms to look out for, and to remove the taboo around talking about poo.

“Bowel cancer does not discriminate. It effects all people.”

Rachel is aiming for more than 100 attendees and for more corporate sponsors to jump onboard and give back to the community.

Tickets go on sale in April.
