Global beats hit Kilcoy
KILCOY came alive with colour, music and the aromas of global cuisine as hundreds gathered at Yowie Park on October 24, to celebrate the 2025 Kilcoy Multicultural Carnival.
The annual event once again united the Somerset community, shining a spotlight on the region’s vibrant cultural diversity through food, music, dance and storytelling.
Somerset Mayor Jason Wendt said the carnival continues to be one of the most special and meaningful events on the local calendar.
“Every year, this event reminds us that Somerset is made stronger by the many cultures and communities who call this region home,” Cr Wendt said.
“We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the people who bring new traditions, flavours and perspectives to our shared story.”
Crowds enjoyed a feast of international flavours from food trucks, interactive kids’ activities, and captivating cultural performances representing communities from Fiji, Vanuatu, the Philippines, East Timor and Papua New Guinea.
The entertainment program featured everything from traditional Pacific Island dances to the sounds of the Burnett Celtic Pipes and Drums and a lively Aussie folk sing-along that had everyone joining in.
