Here's cheers to the Exchange
The Kilcoy Exchange Hotel won two awards at the annual Queensland Hotels Association (QHA) Awards for Excellence at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The Exchange Hotel took out the Best Regional Bistro and Regional Hotel of the Year awards at the gala dinner and presentation evening on Monday, June 3.
There were 10 staff members representing the award-winning Kilcoy-based hotel, including the hotel’s venue manager, Donna Roser.
Upon hearing the announcement of the Exchange Hotel’s award success, Donna said there was “great joy and an overwhelming feeling for the recognition of the hard work and dedication” that the hotel’s staff put in on a daily basis.
The two award wins came after the Exchange Hotel was nominated for Best Regional Bistro, Bar, and Accommodation at last year’s event. In 2021, the Exchange Hotel was judged Queensland’s Best Regional Bar at the QHA awards.
In early 2022, the Exchange Hotel won the Best Bar Presentation and Service Regional award at the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) National Awards for Excellence.
QHA staff appeared at hotels at random times, remaining anonymous until they were about to depart when they handed a card to a staff member with the words ‘You’ve been judged by QHA’.
Donna said hard work, consistency, and a huge effort from all of the Exchange Hotel staff were key factors in being rewarded at the QHA awards night.
“From management, a big thank you to all our staff of the Exchange Hotel for their hard work and dedication,” she said.
Donna also acknowledged the continued support from the local community, visitors, and tourists.
