Highway’s oasis
Tree Change Café, located along the Brisbane Valley Highway in Fernvale, has become a local favourite for both residents and visitors.
The café is known for its cosy, nature-inspired interior, featuring greenery, hanging ornaments, and clocks frozen at random times, creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.
Owners CJ Maden and Elissa Costin designed the café as a little green oasis, combining great food, coffee, and community connection. Customers frequently praise the café for its warmth and quality, with 98 per cent recommending it online. Last year, Tree Change Café was voted Somerset’s Best Café in the Coffee Commune’s Love My Café Awards, an accolade determined entirely by customer votes.
The menu offers hearty breakfasts, light lunches, vegetarian options, and sweet treats, all served alongside expertly brewed coffee. The café attracts families, cyclists, and day-trippers, often visiting after exploring the nearby Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
