Historic new BBQ sizzle
The Caboolture Historical Village celebrated the grand opening of its new BBQ area on July 26, adding a charming and functional space to the site’s facilities.

Named ‘Eric’s Place’ in honour of Eric Woodford, a dedicated volunteer involved with the Village for over 15 years and known for his commitment to running the BBQ at events, the facility is a testament to community spirit.
Built in collaboration with Moreton Bay Council, the structure reflects the traditional construction style of the Village’s historical era, enhancing the authenticity of the attraction.
Primarily used for washing demonstrations during school visits and community event days, the new BBQ area is a valuable addition expected to serve visitors and volunteers alike for many years, enriching the overall experience at the Caboolture Historical Village.
Division 3 Councillor Adam Hain described the new structure as “the cherry on top” of several upgrades made to the Village over the past two years.
“Congratulations to the Village volunteers and Council staff for delivering well over a million dollars of upgrades,” he said.
“Our Village is now the exemplar of excellence in Queensland and will be here for many generations to come.”
