Juniors make District Team
Two kids from Kilcoy Tennis Club have qualified for the Glasshouse District Team on Thursday, March 7.
11-year-olds Preston Paterson, Milla Ede and Perseus Maratas, all part of the Kilcoy Club Juniors, trialled for the District team in Landsborough, with Preston and Milla being selected to join.
Kilcoy Tennis Club president Gil Todd said the kids all had a great time and enjoyed the experience.
“I was very proud and it’s great for the Club to see the juniors come through”, Mr Todd said.
“They all played extremely well and and really enjoyed playing with the other kids.”
Preston, Milla and Perseus were three of roughly 25 kids competing for the eight open spots on the team.
They will go on to represent Glasshouse District Team at the Sunshine Coast Regional trials on April 22, hoping to qualify for the regional team.
The kids had to trial for the Glasshouse team since their schools are within the Glasshouse District of the Sunshine Coast School Sport districts.
Preston goes to Woodford State School, Milla goes to Mt Kilcoy State School and Perseus goes to Kilcoy State School.
