TWO Wamuran breeders have taken the Australian equestrian world by storm, clinching top national honours over the 2025 show season.

Stallion YB Angels Mark, owned by Rosena Fyfe and her daughter Jes of RJF Performance Horses, was crowned Grand Champion at both the Quarter Horse and Paint Horse Nationals during the 2024–2025 show season, earning multiple high-point end-of-year awards across both breeds. His success saw him travel interstate, where he continued to dominate, taking out multiple prestigious titles.
“We were totally stoked,” Rosena said. “It blew us away that he held his own so strongly. The high points are achieved by accumulating the most points in Australia, so basically you are up against mega heaps of horses. To see him come out on top in so many categories was just incredible.”
The winning streak didn’t stop there. Two homebred horses, RJF Arcadian and RJF Just Bewitching, also delivered outstanding performances, scoring highly in both end-of-year and major shows. Yearling RJF Arcadian took out the high-point Paint Bred horse of Australia, while Just Bewitching, a two-year-old filly, won the high-point two-year-old lead performance horse at both the Queensland State Show and Tropicana.
With over 30 years in the industry, Rosena passed on her passion for horses and showing to her daughter, after learning it from her own father, John Fyfe. “My father had horses all his life, so the love of horses was basically bred into me, and, if you like, inherited to my daughter,” she said. “I’m absolutely happy that she kind of followed in the footsteps and joined in on the passion. And although people say horses are expensive, there’s worse things to have your kids want to get involved with.”
Rosena became hooked on showing in her 20s after taking her filly at the time, Rosie’s Troubled Pride, to some small shows and performing extremely well before venturing to her first Quarter Horse Nationals and winning the prestigious Yearling Halter futurity out of 25 horses. “When you’ve got a horse of that calibre, it’s like ‘oh, okay, well I better lift my game, and we better learn a bit more about this western performance and the Western show things’,” she said. Rosie’s Troubled Pride maintained a strong presence in the family tradition, with Jes later learning to ride and show on her.
Beyond breeding and showing, RJF Performance Horses also offers PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) treatments and serves as agents for Stabilised Equine products, which all their horses are maintained on.
As for the future, Rosena’s passion remains undimmed. “As long as I’m able, I’ll keep doing this,” she said. “It’s what I love, and I can’t imagine life any other way.”
