The 2025 Lowood Rodeo drew a bumper crowd on November 8, with spectators packing the grounds for a full day of high-energy competition and family-friendly entertainment.

Organisers reported “huge numbers in all competitions”, with riders and stock contractors travelling from across the region to take part in one of Lowood’s biggest annual events.

This year also marked a significant moment for the rodeo community, with long-time organiser Mik Oberle taking part in his final Lowood Rodeo before retiring.

Temperatures soared through the afternoon before storm clouds rolled in at nightfall, but the changing weather didn’t dampen spirits.

The action continued well into the evening, with the last events wrapping up well after 10pm.

The rodeo introduced pre-paid camping, allowing visitors to secure their sites ahead of time — a move that proved popular with attendees.

Local competitors were well-represented across the program, while a diverse mix of trade stalls added to the festival atmosphere.
