This year’s program features talented local performers from Moreton Bay and beyond performing theatre, dance, comedy, musical theatre, immersive installations, storytelling, cabaret, big bands and contemporary music.

These include 22 free events and 22 paid events across 28 venues.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Peter Flannery said he is sure locals and visitors will enjoy these entertaining, quirky and imaginative performances in community halls, car parks, breweries, cafes, restaurants, parks, libraries, and museums.

“This is the third year that Council has partnered with Anywhere Festival to deliver a program that’s packed with entertaining, quirky, and imaginative experiences and events,” Cr Flannery said.

“This year features a fantastic line-up of performances including a cabaret about Katy Perry fandom to arias sung acapella, the Scottish version of a bush dance, First Nations storytelling, comedies about high school reunions and so much more!

“Moreton Bay Regional Council is committed to supporting a thriving arts and cultural sector in Moreton Bay region.

“The festival provides a platform for local performing artists to present their work to local audiences. I encourage you to support performers by booking tickets to see a show, with tickets being very reasonably priced.

“To ensure the festival experience is accessible, the program features free and low-cost creative activations in different parts of Moreton Bay region for you and your family and friends to enjoy.”

Families can celebrate Mother’s Day at ‘Dancing in D-Bay’ with dance workshops, a street parade and live music in and around Deception Bay on May 14.

“Come dressed in your cosplay for ‘Wizards in the Park’, an afternoon of magic, music and mischief in Samford on 20 May.

“Savour the delightful sounds of ‘Gathering Song’, a massed community choir concert in Caboolture Memorial Hall on 27 May.”

The Festival Finale will be held at Redcliffe on June 4.

“I would like to thank the performers for creating and presenting their shows, the local businesses and community spaces who are venue hosts, and the festival organisers for providing this opportunity for local performers and audiences, made possible in part by the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Moreton Bay Regional Council.

“We want to make Moreton Bay one of the most vibrant places to live and visit so that when the world comes to our doorstep for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games they’re left with a lasting impression to come back!

“The full program has officially launched so get online and check out the Anywhere Festival 2023 program to plan your social calendar.”
