No more voting restrictions for those with Covid
All Australians with Covid-19 will be able to vote in the federal election, following changes to voting rules.
The original rules meant anyone who had not applied for a postal vote and had tested positive to Covid-19 before Tuesday would not be allowed to vote on the phone.
Changes to the rules were announced on Friday morning after the Australian electoral commissioner signed a brief to request the changes.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on radio that the government supported the solution, which means anyone in isolation from 6pm today can vote on the phone.
