No one ‘Pips the Pollie’ with Powell
THE Sentinel’s first ever Pip the Pollies footy tipping competition came to an end, with no one managing to pip the pollie this year, as State Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell, took home first place.
Andrew finished on 131 points and got $1000 prize money to gift as a donation to a local charity, community group or sporting club of his choice. This year, his club of choice was the Stanley River Wolves, who just came off a smashing Grand Final win.
Divaan Ireland from Buddy Brewing came in second on 127 points after overtaking Nas from Wamuran Pharmacy. Divaan took home $500.
Our other pollies didn’t do quite as well, with State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan, coming in a respectable fourth, with six people pipping him. Moreton Bay Div 12 Councillor Tony Latter was pipped by everyone, coming in eighth out of nine, losing only to our wooden spooner recipient, Vicki Ford from RE/MAX Victory on 105 points.
The Sentinel would like to thank everyone who participated this year and made the footy season lots of fun! We wish everyone better luck in trying to ‘Pip that Pollie’ next year, with even more fun awaiting!
