Perfect playtime at Tilney
WOODFORD families have a brand-new place to play, ride, and relax, as the official opening of the upgraded Tilney Park took place on Saturday, October 25.
The $1.8 million project included a new all-ages pump track, an extended and nature-inspired playground, new picnic shelters, a junior playground and an amenities block.
The opening was celebrated with a community sausage sizzle, hosted by the Woodford Lions, and Library Storytime, with locals having turned out in large numbers to test the new track and enjoy picnics in the new undercover parklands.
The upgrade builds on what locals already loved about the park, transforming it into a district-level destination designed to meet the needs of Woodford’s growing community.
The revamped playground combines adventure-style elements with natural landscaping, while the new pump track provides a fun and safe challenge for riders of all ages and skill levels.
The project is part of Council’s long-term plan to deliver more family-friendly public spaces across the city, ensuring every community has access to quality playgrounds, open spaces, and facilities.
