Event organisers were keen to have a follow-up event after the first event took place last November, with many doggy-friendly treats and activities on offer.

Sunday’s event will feature pet-themed market stalls, a doggy makeover station, a sausage sizzle, live music, and a demonstrations zone.

The pet-themed market stalls will be filled with a variety of pet products, accessories, and tasty treats for dogs, while there will also be food trucks for humans and doggy ice cream for the furry pals.

Back by popular demand is Pupper Picasso run by Bippity Boppity Boutique, where one’s four-legged friend can unleash their inner artist and create a masterpiece on canvas.

The doggy makeover station will be a new addition, where dogs can be treated to a little pampering by having their nails painted or colour streaked in their ears.

The musical line-up will showcase the local talents of Josh Crawford, Amber Worthington, Natasha Rose and Asa Broomhall.

Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the launch of Pooches in the Park in 2022 was a runaway success, and that Council was making it even bigger this year.

“We’ve added a ‘Doggy Makeover Station’ to ensure your pet’s looking paw-fect for Instagram, and Council rangers will be giving away freebies and pet care advice at our ‘Pets in Public Spaces’ pop-up van,” Cr Flannery said.

“Dogs of all sizes are welcome, in fact we have a dedicated ‘Big Dog Friendly Activity Zone’ to ensure the big fellas don’t feel like they’re missing out.

“Just remember that your dogs must remain on a lead at all times, unless in a designated off-leash area.”

Cr Yvonne Barlow (Div 7) said the free event celebrated the community’s furry family members, in the heart of Kallangur.

“This event has special meaning for me because my dog passed away last year, so I’ll be there to get plenty of cuddles,” she said.

“It’s without question the cutest event we have on our social calendar and a great insta-opportunity with your pet.

“Honestly you can’t help but smile when you’re there – there is a market selling pet products, live music, a community sausage sizzle and food trucks which even have doggy ice cream and treats available to spoil your pooch.

“I love that events like these bring our community together.”
