Queensland Schools to Receive $44 Million Behaviour Management Boost

The Crisafulli Government has announced a $44 million funding boost for Queensland state schools to help tackle student behavioural issues and provide greater support for teachers.

The Crisafulli Government has announced a $44 million funding boost for Queensland state schools to help tackle student behavioural issues and provide greater support for teachers.

The funding, part of a key election commitment, will allow schools to hire new support staff or increase hours for teacher aides, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. It can also be used for professional development, mentoring, and specialist educational resources.

Premier David Crisafulli said the initiative was designed to ensure teachers had the support they needed to manage classrooms effectively.

“Schools are no place for bad behaviour, and we’re sending in the back-up teachers need to turn the tables on bullying,” Mr Crisafulli said.

“This will help teachers to help kids and start to stamp out bullying.”

Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek said the funding would help restore confidence in the education system after a decade of Labor governance.

“Labor had ten years to fix behavioural issues in schools, but they failed,” Mr Langbroek said.

Schools will have flexibility in how they allocate the funding to address specific behavioural challenges. Teachers and aides will also receive targeted training to improve classroom management.
