Returning joint player coaches, Callum and Rowan Klein, have 40 senior players in training and early preparation for the coming season looks good. Twelve of the 2019 A grade premiership squad have re-signed.

New signings include forwards Rowan Winterfield from the Ipswich Jets and Dalton Phillips from the Sunshine Coast Falcons. The club are in talks with additional players.

A number of other players are returning to the club including former local juniors Rowdy McSweeney and Beau Howard.

Any player interested in playing in the Under 18’s or seniors are encouraged to come along to training at the showgrounds at Woodford on Tuesday or Thursday nights from 6:30pm. Alternatively, give Russell Klein a call on 0439 534 408.

The committee have been busy with a number of improvements to the facilities. $18,000 has been spent on upgrading lighting, solar panels placed on the roof of the clubhouse to reduce energy costs, a new equipment shed constructed between the fields and the dressing sheds for the players enlarged. It’s all happening at the Graveyard.

This Saturday (13th February), Reserve Grade have a trial with the Beerwah Bulldogs at Beerwah at 4:30pm. The following week (on Saturday 20th February), Rivers will host Nambour at Woodford with Reserve Grade playing at 4:30pm, followed by A Grade at 6:00pm.

On Saturday 27th February the Wolves will enter an A Grade side in the 9s competition at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

So there are lots of opportunities to get out and support the club early in 2021.

The club would also very much like to thank their major sponsors. Woodford Hotel (Platinum), Resi Homes (Gold), Jackson Constructions, Woodford Livestock & Property and Wamuran Timbers (Silver).
