Saddle up for Kilcoy Show
The Kilcoy P.A. & I. Society (KPAIS) is thrilled to welcome everyone to the 2025 Kilcoy Show on Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26—a fun-filled celebration of agriculture, entertainment, and community spirit for all ages.
Friday’s program includes judging across all three pavilions, open to the public from early morning. Stud beef competitions begin their two-day schedule, while Prime Cattle will be judged and auctioned. The popular dog competition returns, and horse and pony club events will take over the centre ring. Several rides and food stalls will also be operating.
In the evening, don’t miss the energetic Young Farmers Challenge, followed by a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night sky. KPAIS will also host a Golden Oldies Morning Tea, welcoming residents from Aloaka, Anglicare, and Able Retreats. Local school students from Kilcoy and Mount Kilcoy will enjoy an educational tour of the showgrounds—exploring pavilions, meeting animals, and learning about agricultural traditions.
Saturday promises non-stop action. The day begins with the official show opening at 10am, along with the Kilcoy Showgirl and Rural Ambassador presentations at The HUB. All pavilions—including poultry—will be open. Stud beef judging continues, and Saturday also features miniature goats, donkeys, sheep, poultry, and Gypsy Cob horses. The Jean Greensill Ladies Championship Woodchop and the John Harrison Memorial Chainsaw Race are among the highlights, alongside a full program of timber sports.
Returning after many years, the Ute Show adds a unique attraction, while the Somerset Regional Hobby Horse Sprints and barrel racing promise free, family-friendly fun with great prizes. There’s something for everyone, from helicopter rides and a lolly drop to a vibrant fashion parade, multicultural performances, clown shows, pony rides, marine displays, reptiles, roving entertainers, and more. The Outback Riders Show will wow the Saturday night crowd with their impressive equestrian skills.
Sideshow Alley, operated by the Showmen’s Guild of Australasia, will once again be filled with thrilling rides and games. A trackless train will help visitors navigate the grounds easily. No dogs allowed on site (service dogs only). Grab your Show Money vouchers before Wednesday, July 23 to save on rides—these won’t be sold at the gates! Visit the Kilcoy Show website or follow them on Facebook for full event details. Show schedules are available at local Kilcoy businesses.
