Sensational Sunday races loom
The Kilcoy Race Club is likely to have about eight gallop races for the Sensational Sunday meet, on July 2.
The club will acknowledge three sponsors for the help they have given the club for about 17 years: the Basil Nolan family of Raheen Stud Gladfield; the Frappell family of Clear Mountain Stud Greenmount; and Shane Chataway.
‘Kilcoy Digger’ Greg Decker will also be acknowledged, having won an OAM (Medal of the Order) for his services to the Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) and veterans.
In addition to the racing, there will be prizes for Fashions in the Crowd.
Other features will include a raffle, a $100 members’ draw, and a pick-the-card game which will contain $500 for someone if they pick the winner of each race.
Gates will open at 10.30am, with tickets to cost $15 at the gate or $10 if booked online.
Alternatively, attendees can retain their entry pass from the Thursday June 29 race meet in Kilcoy, to gain free entry to Sunday’s races.
