Families and visitors packed the foreshore for the free two-day festival, enjoying dazzling displays of giant kites, synchronised routines, and a host of family-friendly activities.

The refreshed format, which removed entry fees and returned the focus to the art of kite flying, proved to be a huge success with crowds spreading picnic blankets and gazing skyward at the Ausbuild Kite-Flying Arena.

Hundreds of families and kite enthusiasts also lined the Sesame Lane Public Fly Zone, making their own kites soar alongside the giant ones.

Alongside the spectacular kites of all shapes and sizes, festival-goers enjoyed food trucks, markets, and interactive attractions including kite-making workshops, face painting, pony rides, and gem fossicking.
