The Red Bellies and Adders U9 teams played six games while opponents were Bundaberg Brothers, East Magpies and Across The Waves Tigers.

A Super Player award was given for every age group. After each game, three players from each team were nominated by their opposing team.

The award was based on sportsmanship, being a team player, encouraging others, playing by the rules, being respectful and polite, and showing positive behaviour on and off the field.

In the U9s the overall Super Player award went to Luseane of the Red Bellies, who said she enjoyed playing so many games at the carnival.

Coaches Barry and Collin were impressed with the wonderful club spirit and kindness demonstrated by Snakes players, volunteers and families, and said their teams gave their all.

In the Adders team, Noah was awarded Parents’ Pick and Noah won Players’ Player. For the Red Bellies, Cooper G was Parents’ Pick and Luseane was Players’ Player.

For the U10s it was their first experience on a bigger field, with more players and no half-time. They played five 18-minute games, winning four and drawing the other.

The U10s also won the relay team, and Lela was awarded the Super Player award.

The coaches said it was a fantastic effort by all players, and that the trip was a great team building opportunity.

Special thanks go to sponsor Woolworths Central Lakes for providing a voucher for snacks for the hard-working Snakies teams.

All up it was a terrific result for the Snakies on the field and was a fun filled carnival for all.
