Somerset community assisted by council

COMMUNITY groups and individuals in Somerset have benefited from grants awarded by Somerset Regional Council.

Among the groups to benefit include the St Vincent de Paul Society, Toogoolawah Men’s Shed and the Lions Club of Esk.

Council has also awarded nine sporting bursaries totalling $4,500 to individuals within the region who have been successful in international, state or regional representation.

Somerset Councillor Cheryl Gaedtke (pictured) said council was pleased to be able to support community groups and individuals succeeding in the region.

“These community groups help bring our residents together and support social inclusion and council is pleased to be able to financially support these groups, where possible,” Cr Gaedtke said.
