Take care on roads
With more rain and storms predicted for later today, care is recommended on Moreton Bay and Somerset region roads.
Rainfall totals varied between 10mm and more than 30mm, as a slow moving rain system transited across the region, heading east from the Darling Downs.
While northern areas of both Somerset and Moreton Bay recorded low rainfall totals, it was a different story in the more southerly areas.
Burpengary recorded 38mm of rain in 23 hours, while Glen Esk recorded 25mm of rain in the same timeframe.
Lowood residents woke to find 24mm of rain, while Lake Manchester recorded 40mm and Savages Crossing on the Brisbane River had 26mm of rain.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecast shows more heavy rainfall this afternoon, along with the possibility of strong winds.
