Toogoolawah History Museum Re-Opening
After a strange year in 2020 and a break for repairs in January, the Toogoolawah History Museum will re-open on Thursday 4th February 2021.
The hours of operation will remain the same at 10.00 am – 2.00 pm Thursday and Friday and 10 am – 1pm on Saturdays. During the break, a happy band of volunteers worked to re-establish the front garden bed at the museum with suitable shrubs and plants designed to enhance the heritage building itself as they grow.
The display has been updated in both the museum and the bomb shelter at The Condensery. There are even more local family histories to explore this year. Later in the year there will be more exhibitions and garden updates so watch this space.
Things will also get underway with the first Toogoolawah & District History Group General Meeting for 2021 to be held from 10am on Tuesday 16th February in the RSL Hall, Cairnscroft Street, in Toogoolawah.
Guest speaker this time is author Betsy Fyshwill talk to those present about her new book, “When Chairmen Were Patriots”, the story of the founding of Qantas. Members of the public as well as history group members are very welcome to attend the meeting. Covid safe regulations will apply, of course.
