The club fielded five players in the open competition and four in the fun grade competition.

The fun grade is a new initiative for lower-grade players, first trialled at the Stanley Rivers carnival in May, and is now gaining popularity across the state.

A total of 34 teams attended the carnival, coming from South East Queensland, Western Downs, and northern New South Wales. Stanley Rivers competed in the D Grade round-robin competition against teams from Tara, Chinchilla, Warwick, and Cunningham.

On Saturday, under beautiful weather conditions, Stanley Rivers narrowly won against both Tara and Chinchilla.

Sunday brought cold and windy weather. The team played Warwick in the morning but lost a tough match 16–10. In the afternoon, Stanley Rivers defeated Cunningham by 10 goals. Since Cunningham had beaten Warwick on Saturday, the final winner was decided by a countback. Despite the strong win against Cunningham, Warwick claimed first place, with Stanley Rivers finishing as runners-up in D Grade.

Meanwhile, the four players in the fun grade joined forces with two spare players, including one making his debut, and won the competition.

Upcoming competitions are scheduled for Wandoan on June 14th and 15th, and Tansey on June 21st and 22nd.

Stanley Rivers players at Toowoomba included spare player Peter Johnson from Tara, Selena Stevens, Brendan Beck, Amber Perrin, John Donovan, and Clay Colless.
