The Zonta Club of Caboolture is once again joining thousands of Zonta clubs worldwide to “paint” communities orange as part of the annual Zonta International 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

Running from November 25 to December 10, the global initiative—held in collaboration with the United Nations—aims to raise awareness of domestic and family violence and encourage community-wide action.

Locally, residents will notice bright orange banners stating “Zonta Says No” displayed in prominent locations across Caboolture.

The Caboolture Hub will also be lit orange, creating a visual reminder of the campaign and its call to end violence against women.

Orange silhouettes and displays will appear in public libraries, police stations, local businesses, and community organisations.

The Zonta Club of Caboolture, part of Zonta International District 22, raises funds annually to support local initiatives that “Build a Better World for Women and Children.”

The club is run entirely by volunteers, with all funds directed to programs such as educational scholarships for women, support for women’s refuges, and domestic violence services.

One of the club’s major efforts during the 16-day campaign is a social media push to increase visibility and awareness.

“Each day we will be posting content to our Zonta Facebook and Instagram pages about the campaign and what local community members can do to support it,” the club said.

A QR code linked to the campaign will direct users to the District 22 Zonta Says No webpage.

The campaign will culminate in a fellowship walk held in Brisbane City on Thursday, November 27, coinciding with the lighting of King George Square in orange. The walk begins at 6pm and is open to all who wish to show support.

The club encourages residents to participate, engage, and help spread the message that violence has no place in Moreton Bay—or anywhere.
