The strategy aims to ensure the best possible services and supports are available for people who have served the nation. Member for Nanango, Deb Frecklington, said they want to hear about the real issues faced by veterans and their families, including challenges in transitioning to civilian life, accessing employment, and managing health and wellbeing.

“Veterans make an invaluable contribution to our communities. Their experience, leadership, and insight are unique and essential to shaping a stronger Queensland,” she said. “That’s why we’re asking veterans and those who support them to share their thoughts. Your voice matters, and your input will help guide a strategy that truly supports those who have served.”

The strategy will be developed through extensive consultation with veterans, ex-service organisations, families, and the wider community, ensuring it reflects real experiences and needs. Premier and Minister for Veterans David Crisafulli said the strategy would strengthen outcomes for veterans and their families.

“Veterans have a positive role to play in community life and bring a unique outlook and knowledge, which is why we want them to provide input into the strategy,” he said. “We are working with veterans to protect the legacy of those who have served and to shape outcomes for the future, and our message is simple – your voice matters.”

An online survey is open to all Queenslanders until Friday, 14 November 2025. To have your say, visit www.qld.gov.au/veterans.
