The 2025 Kilcoy Multicultural Carnival brings together Somerset’s melting pot of cultural groups to explore and celebrate the region’s rich diversity. From 4pm to 7pm at Yowie Park on Hope Street, Kilcoy, Council will host food trucks, activities for kids, information providers, and an array of cultural performances.

Somerset Mayor Jason Wendt said the Kilcoy Multicultural Carnival was an important event for Kilcoy and the wider Somerset community.

“Every year we welcome more and more new citizens to our country and our region,” Cr Wendt said. “They become part of our community and make meaningful economic and cultural contributions to our social fabric. The Kilcoy Multicultural Carnival is a chance to celebrate the people and cultures which make Somerset such a wonderful place to live.”

Cr Wendt invited the community to feast on the flavours of the world. “We’ll have all sorts of cuisines represented in food trucks, and some incredible performances from cultural groups,” he said. “As one of the region’s biggest employers, Kilcoy Global Foods will support the event with presentations from Fiji, Vanuatu, Philippines, East Timor and Papua New Guinea cultural groups. We’re very grateful to Kilcoy Global Foods for sponsoring the Kilcoy Multicultural Carnival and for their employees’ contributions to the entertainment. Their passionate and colourful performances are always a highlight of the night.”

Carnival-goers will also be treated to a Welcome to Country, smoking ceremony, and interactive dance performance from the Jinibara mob, performances from Burnett Celtic Pipes & Drums, and an interactive Aussie folk song singalong.

The 2025 Kilcoy Multicultural Carnival is funded by the Queensland Government, sponsored by Kilcoy Global Foods, and organised by Somerset Regional Council.
